Wave Bottle

Hello CDS friends!

Sometimes in our science lesson, I like to show you how to make fun things using materials that can be found around your house. Remember the Halloween sensory bottles and the battery powered Christmas lights? Today, I would like to show you how to make a “wave bottle,” also known as an “ocean in a bottle.”  Wave bottles can be very calming to watch if you are upset or frustrated. And we all have those feelings sometimes! Wave bottles are also just fun to move around in your hands! If you would like to make this activity into a scientific experiment, you could create the wave bottle using different types of oil (for example, canola oil, coconut oil, olive oil, baby oil, etc.) and see what happens! Remember, different types of oil have different densities.
