Saint Luke schedules many opportunities for children and families to explore the world outside their classroom. Fall programs in the past have included a truck touch, our very own pumpkin patch, a Native American cultural presentation, The Bug Lady and more. In the spring students have visited symphony or other arts programs, local nature centers, the library or book mobile. Special spring visitors have included puppeteers and The Recycling Lady among others. Other events to which parents are invited include costume parades, teddy bear parades, and the like.
A special Christmas program to which parents are invited is a highlight of the year for threes and fours, and a closing celebration for fours is held each spring.
Saint Luke also offers students school photos and speech, vision and hearing screenings.
Parent 411 informational presentations are sponsored by Saint Luke and are offered to school families. Topics in the past have included discipline, kindergarten readiness, technology and children, and other relevant parenting subjects.
Saint Luke’s department of Youth and Family Ministry sponsors many events for young children, including school families, throughout the year. Past events have included safe trick-or-treating, pumpkin painting, Easter egg hunt, park play-dates, crafting events and more.
The Music Ministry department sponsors youth choirs for children and their siblings as young as four years. Many school families participate and church membership is not a requirement. Children rehearse with their choir weekly and sing at occasional worship services during the year.
