Amy Zandarski-Pica is the director of Saint Luke Christian Day School.  Amy holds a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.  As both a professional social worker and a parent, Mrs. Zandarski-Pica understands the importance of early childhood education.   Prior to her employment at Saint Luke, Mrs. Zandarski-Pica spent more than 15 years in local and national non-profits, helping build the capacities of individuals, organizations and communities through the development and management of evidence-based social justice programs. She began her career working with Georgetown Ministry Center, a homeless outreach center.  For a decade, Mrs. Zandarski-Pica served as the national program director for Experience Corps, an intergenerational literacy tutoring program for children in grades K-3.  Mrs. Zandarski-Pica is enthusiastic about the opportunity to serve our community and help prepare young children for elementary school and life beyond.  She believes every child deserves to be loved and have the opportunity to learn.  She is committed to Saint Luke CDS’s play-based approach which provides a strong foundation for early childhood education while also creating a safe and loving environment where kids can be kids, and thrive.  Mrs. Zandarski-Pica lives in Silver Spring with her husband of 19 years and their son.  Her other passions are reading, gardening, and the beach.
